Reiki came into my life at a time when I was searching for non-pharmaceutical options to manage anxiety, post-partum depression, and chronic fatigue. A friend recommended that I investigate Reiki and the profound benefits it has to offer. I did, and the rest is history! I quickly learned that by simply using my own two hands, I was able to decrease my stress and anxiety and improve both my sleep and my overall sense of well-being. After experiencing and witnessing the consistent benefits Reiki provided for me and my family, it became my goal to share it with those seeking more balance in their lives. After 16 years, I can honestly say that I learn something new with each session, and I am grateful for the opportunity to accompany clients on their wellness journey.
I believe that Eastern and Western treatments work in a complementary manner and that it is the decision of each individual and their support team to determine the method(s) and practices best suited to their unique needs. It is important to work with all levels of the system; Mind, Body, and Spirit; as the more balanced the system becomes over time, the better equipped it becomes to manage stress and dis-ease. Consistent Reiki practice is preventative in nature and is much like brushing your teeth. The more you do it, the healthier the system will be and the easier it will be to maintain.
My goals in doing this work are to help people remember what it feels like to be balanced and in tune with their own mind, body, and spirit; and to nurture integration between preventative practices and Western Medicine. Spiritual practice and laying on of the hands is not "out there," nor do I believe it to be "New-Age." It has been practiced in some manner, by every human culture, for centuries.
Reiki is practiced in hospitals, clinics, dentist offices, spas, sports training facilities, and even disaster recovery sites.
